What You Will Learn:

  • How to sketch and ink cartoon representations of people
  • How to capture personality and likeness in caricatures

Supplies You’ll Need:

  • Card stock in desired color (Cut to 7”x10”, folded to 5”x7” (A7 size card))
  • Adhesive of choice (Glue stick, tape runner, double-sided tape)
  • Bone folder
  • A7 envelopes in desired color
  • Scissors
  • Heavy drawing paper (Bristol, watercolor paper, mixed media paper, etc)
  • Opt. Watercolor paints or markers
  • Black drawing pen (or brush pen)
  • Pencil
  • Eraser
  • Washi tape for securing your work
  • Opt. Lightboard for tracing

Can be simple but oh, so Effective

Even simple lines can convey a lot of information as Shelby shows us her process. Characaturing every family member (including pets), Shelby shows how to in simple strokes and now I am also getting to be a fan of procreate too. From shapes to expressions, Shelby shares how to bring your loved ones into a new way of being in a fun and imaginative way, just in time for the holidays!
