In the third episode of the Handmade Holiday Cards series, explore the art of carving your own unique stamps. This hands-on project guides you through each step of the carving process, allowing you to create personalized designs that can be used to add a distinctive touch to your holiday cards. Discover how to express your creativity and craftsmanship as you create one-of-a-kind stamps that reflect your style!

What You Will Learn:

  • Step-by-step instructions for carving rubber stamps

Supplies You'll Need:

  • Card stock in desired color (Cut to 7”x10”, folded to 5”x7” (A7 size card))
  • Adhesive of choice (Glue stick, tape runner, double-sided tape)
  • Bone folder
  • A7 envelopes in desired color
  • Scissors
  • Linoleum blocks or rubber blocks
  • Carving tools (such as a linoleum cutter or similar)
  • Brayer
  • A smooth, flat, hard surface about 12”x6”, like plexiglass or hard plastic (for Brayer)
  • Pencil or pen for sketching designs
  • Stamp pads (various colors)
  • Cardstock for stamping
  • Clean-up cloth or paper towel

More enjoyable than Expected

Very familiar with Watercolour and Lettering, I was not expecting how interesting it was to find out and watch this course. Shelby had some really great advice, and watching her process is enlightening and encouraging. She is opent to trying new things and going with the flow on camera so it is so refreshing to see and helps you in your own process.
