Visual journaling is a beautiful way to capture experiences and emotions that words often struggle to express. In this workshop, participants will explore new methods of creativity and self-exploration, guided by artist Sarah Goone. Through playful warm-up exercises and a meditative approach to drawing, attendees will create a visual journal page that represents a personal moment, whether from a recent trip or meaningful event in their lives.

So Good, So Different

Sarah started off with some meditation and warm ups which helped to unlock and start the juices flowing. Its definitely a different way to look at and create your own art that's something new for me. As a realistic artist, portraying my memories in a new way was a stretch and I did need to look at photos from my trip. But while different, the growth was good. Well worth taking this course.

This class was powerful and Sarah was an excellent teacher. I really enjoyed how she worked along with us so we could hear her thought process out loud. I also really loved the topic. I though it was a very interesting take on visual/sketch journaling that I hadn’t ever seen before.

I enjoyed this class very much. I am happy with how my drawing turned out and it was thought-provoking and fun. I enjoyed the meditative part as well. It was a nice way to get ready to draw.

Sarah was fun and engaging and did an excellent job of explaining her thought process as she went along. I look forward to incorporating visual journaling into my daily life! I signed up for the class because I was hoping to get something from it that could help me keep a travel journal on my next trip. This was a bit different than I thought it might be, but also really freeing to know I can meaningfully capture moments of the trip without having to feel the pressure to spend hours carefully drawing what's in front of me.
