So join Miranda Balogh in this hands-on live class where you learn how to add values to various 3D forms by following an easy step-by-step process.

To do this, you first learn how to add pressure to your pencil, and then you learn how to build up the layers. Lastly, you learn how to blend graphite to create dynamic shading. By the end of this live class, you’ll feel more confident in your ability to create drawings that look accurate and aesthetically pleasing!

Learn the foundational skills for shading simple 3D forms, focusing on light, medium, and dark values.
Understand how to vary pencil pressure to achieve different shading effects and create dimension in your artwork.
Discover the importance of building up layers gradually to create depth in shading, rather than applying it all at once.

Supplies You'll Need:

Drawing paper, printer paper, a drawing sketchbook, or a mixed media sketchbook
One HB, B, or 2B graphite pencil (B means the graphite is black and soft, which is suitable for drawing)
An eraser
A pencil sharpener (Optional)
Blending stumps (Optional)
Tissues (Optional. An alternative for students who don’t own blending stumps)
