Shelby gave me so many ahha! moments that blasted through my "I'm stumped" blockades. I'm paying closer attention to anatomy. It's fascinating!

Live Class Review

I love Shelby's enthusiasm and calm way of explaining everything. However, as a very beginner (and maybe some language barrier for me personally), certain explanation (especially in the beginning) went to quick and the example drawing on the tablet made me actually nerveous. I was trying to keep up on my paper sheet, and before I was done Shelby erased already half of her drawing and it made me feel lost somehow. I'm a slow learner I guess, and even though I would love to draw my cat, I guess this is a very big step next level to.me personally.

Live Class Review

I truly have come to not only love the live classes I have attended, but I look forward to them with great excitement! Whether they realize it or not Shelby and Jon (as well as my fellow students) have quickly become like my bestest friends! Each class just seems to be getting better and better! Today's class in particular will probably remain one of my FAVES just because it was over my most favorite animal, CATS. Shelby has such a fantastic drawing process and she went step by step teaching it regarding various kitties this time. The attention to just the right amount of detail is so great when breaking down subjects like this. I also just love that she takes her time really going into explanation over what she is doing so that it is understandable.

I think with every drawing study class we do, Shelby gets better at teaching them. This class reviews both house and wild cats. Faces and fur are covered, as well as their skeleton structure. It is an excellent study of feline creatures!

A couple of things that might have helped me as a first timer to your drawing classes - 1) getting a heads up as to which exact reference photos you were going to use so that I could have printed them out and marked over them like Shelby did on Procreate and 2) maybe doing the first half of the class on Procreate to get the shapes down, and the second half of the class with sketchbook and pencils.

I don't draw, so it was fascinating to be told hints/tips about drawing the shapes you see and then adding the other details, like fur and whiskers.

I thoroughly enjoyed this drawing live as well. I look forward to starting my Saturday afternoons with all you foxsy folks. 😁 Shelby, Jon- I am beyond grateful for these chill classes. I intend to make/bind my very own art journal at some point, so it'll be a great motivator, hopefully. x,X By the way, that "zombie lion" photo was wild! 😹 Also, Candy Corn and Kit Kat minis are officially on my snack list now. Take good care and thank you for a swell time.
