Class Description:

Ready to take your watercolor skills up a notch? In this class, we'll explore the graded wash: a technique that lets you blend color beautifully and control value (aka transparency). You'll learn how to transition from a strong color to the clean page, creating depth and interest in your paintings.

Just like in our Flat Wash class, we'll follow up with a hands-on mini project where you can practice your new skills and see how this wash can be used in your art.

How to blend smoothly
How to control transparency in your washes
How to apply graded wash techniques to creative projects

Supplies You'll Need:

Watercolor paper
Watercolor paint
A large flat/round/mop paintbrush
A medium round paintbrush
Masking tape
Two jars of water
Rag or paper towels
Optional: heat tool
