Here is what I worked on in our Focus Painting Session earlier today! I’m working on a series called “Where is Home?” which depicts lonely houses in unlikely places.

They’re coming along nicely one layer at a time. You can see my mini paintings where I worked out most of the major kinks ahead of time—highly recommend this technique!

(The Creative Collective coaching group meets every Tuesday for an hour of focused painting as a way to body double and share accountability.)

Whoohoo! What a great painting session! I worked on this shipwreck for an hour with the Creative Collective group today and I made a big leap in the feel of the piece. I feel like it is coming along so well!

I selected a page from a coloring calendar and painted about 7 versions of it this summer. Here is the calendar page and my favorite of the versions that I painted.

I may paint or draw this subject again. I can be very persistent.

Oooooh, cool! The colors of the leaves are so pretty, and the background is really well done! Good idea, using a coloring book to help set the scene and giving you a jumping off point.

I had a moment and wanted to make a quick watercolor, so I selected the “Cacti and Succulent” lesson on Foxsy.
