I shared a version of this in my intro, but I tend to hand letter while watching history shows. I letter the keywords, locations, and people. It’s a good way to experiment with color and letter shapes. I don’t love all of them all, but that’s half the fun! This one is the least bad, but I have a serious writing on a slope problem. The hazards on writing on my lap 😀

This is awesome practice! I, too, enjoy lettering while watching TV and just grabbing random words and phrases out of the air to put to paper. The sloping problem gets me as well! That’s why I always prefer dot grid or square grid notebooks for this type of thing. It really helps keep me on the straight and narrow.

I thought about using something with a reference, and likely will for some stuff moving forward, but otherwise I accept it as part of the charm! This page and a few like it are specifically to fill out the last few pages in my junk journal. I love the bound style of sketchbook, but they are a bit more limited in how chunky they can get. So handlettering and sketching it is!
