• Abstract Watercolor and mixed media

Hey all! I would love to get some constructive feedback on this piece. It’s a bit of a new style for me and I’d love to hear what other artists think about it.

It’s a 9×12 mixed media piece with watercolor, colored pencil, soft pastels, graphite, and posca pens.

I’m most concerned with the balance of the piece and its color variations. But I’d love any feedback/advice please!

    Thanks in advance 🙏

    Colors: amazing. Love it.
Watercolor technique: gorgeous, fun, great movement.
Mark-making: Love that you are experimenting with different tools and creating clusters of shapes, lines, dots, etc.
Balance: It’s pretty good as is, but I think it could be interesting to see some marks outside of the watercolor shape, especially in the upper left quadrant.

I’m loving the abstract work. It’s so relaxing and feels like witchcraft when it all comes together.

It totally does feel like witchcraft! Like I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing the whole time but at the end it looks kind of like art! 🤣

I do agree about the balance and it needing something in the upper left.

Thanks so much for the feedback! It always helps 💕
