Want to roll up your sleeves and practice your lettering with November’s Art in Progress? Shelby will guide you through the creation of a brand new lettering piece using gouache, focusing on composition, style consistency, and creative embellishments. This project-based event is a glimpse behind the curtain where you can witness the entire process, from drafting the piece all the way through the finish line.

What You Will Learn:

  • How to create and plan a lettering project from start to finish
  • Techniques for keeping your lettering style consistent

  • Notes on lettering with gouache and its unique traits

Supplies You’ll Need:

  • Mixed media or 140lb watercolor paper
  • Gouache paint
  • Variety of round brushes
  • 2 jars of water
  • Rag or paper towel
  • Masking tape
  • Art board
  • Harder pencil (HB, 2H, 4H, etc)
  • Kneaded eraser
  • Ruler
  • Opt. Heat tool or hair dryer
  • Opt. Laser level
  • Opt. Lightbox
